Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 August 2026
Net Speed is a Wi-Fi and connection diagnostics app. It measures your network so you can find slow
spots, dead zones and the devices sharing your Wi-Fi. This policy is specific about exactly what is
measured, what leaves your device, and what we never do.
The short version. Every measurement is taken on your own device and network. Net Speed
never reads your messages, mail, photos or contacts, never uses the camera or microphone, and never
sells your data or uses it for advertising. If you sign in, your results sync privately to your own
account and no one else can see them.
Who we are
Net Speed is provided by Keerthi Bommareddy ("we", "us"). For any privacy question, contact
keerthibommareddy94@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account details — if you choose to sign in, your name and email address, provided by
Apple or Google. You can use core features without an account.
- Speed-test results — download and upload throughput, ping, jitter, packet loss,
the network type (Wi-Fi or cellular) and whether a VPN was active.
- Coverage surveys — the measured connection quality at points you walk, so the app can
draw a coverage map, plus a summary of each survey (how much was good, weak or unreachable).
- Wi-Fi network identity — the name (SSID) and access-point identifier (BSSID) of the
network you are on, when iOS makes it available, used to tell your routers apart on the map.
- Approximate location — only with your permission, and only while a coverage scan or
test is running, so results can be placed on the map. You can use the app without granting location.
- Devices on your network — the IP addresses and names of devices that answer on your
own local network, shown in the Devices list. iOS does not expose hardware (MAC) addresses to apps.
- Usage analytics — aggregate, non-identifying events (for example, that a speed test
was run and its result band) used to understand which features are useful. See below.
- Basic diagnostics — crash and reliability information used to keep the app working.
What we never collect
- The contents of messages, email, photos or contacts.
- Camera or microphone access.
- Continuous or background location tracking.
- Your browsing history or the content of your internet traffic.
Analytics — what leaves your device
Usage analytics are deliberately coarse and never identify a person or a place. Throughput is grouped
into ranges rather than exact numbers, and we do not send Wi-Fi network names, device
names, IP addresses or map coordinates to analytics. Analytics tell us things like "a speed test was run
on Wi-Fi with a healthy result" — never where you are or what you are connected to.
Your account data and sync
If you sign in, your speed-test history, coverage-survey summaries and app settings are stored in your
own private account so they are available on your other devices (for example iPhone and iPad). This data
is visible only to you. It is not shared with anyone and is not made public.
Who processes data for us
We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase — sign-in (Authentication), your private account database (Firestore),
usage analytics, and hosting of this website.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple.
Staying in control
- Location and Access Wi-Fi Information are optional and requested only when a feature needs them; you
can decline or revoke them in iOS Settings at any time.
- You can use Net Speed entirely on-device without signing in.
- You can delete your account and its synced data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account.
If you would like help removing data, write to
keerthibommareddy94@gmail.com.
Keeping it safe
Data in your account is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure provider, and
server-side security rules restrict every document so that only you can read or write your own data.
Where data is held
Net Speed runs on Google Cloud infrastructure and your information may be processed in countries other
than your own, including the United States. We rely on the safeguards offered by those providers for
international transfers.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept for as long as you use Net Speed. When you delete your account, the associated data
is removed. Measurements you never sync stay only on your device and go away when you delete the app.
Children
Net Speed is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal
information, and to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update this page and the date above.
